Guess what?

Today I learnt that there is real gold in old computers. It is not very easy to find gold in computers it's only in their brains or batteries. Only do it to old computers so don’t throw away old dusty useless broken lifeless computers. You can find heaps of uses for old computers.

Rachel's Recount

I was so nervous I felt butterflies in my tummy. Do you know why I was so nervous? It was because it was the cross country day. We had our cross country on Friday.9^th of September. The cross country was for yrs 2-6. We the yr 5s had to run for 2 and a half lap around the top field and the bottom field. I felt terrible thinking I might come last. In my whole life I have never came 1^st in cross country, so my goal was to try to be 1^st.

Rugby World Cup

The Classes at Sunnybrae Normal School have been given a team to adopt for the rugby world cup. Because we are in the seniors we have been given two teams, they are USA and England. The students have all chosen one country to support and will wear their colours on Gumboot and Umbrella day.

Good luck USA and England try your best at the Rugby World Cup!

But of course we are still supporting the All Blacks as well!

Rachel's Sports Exchange Recount

“This is fun”! It was our Sports Exchange day we had 4 sports that we could play. Netball, Soccer, Rugby and Tapuae. I chose to play netball because I love netball. We played against St Marys. They were good at netball.

Ok, now should I tell you how the game was going? Ok...I was so excited to play netball but when the game started I was really nervous. In the first quarter of the game St Marys were winning. In the middle of the first quarter my finger started to bleed. It hurt a lot. Luckily Georgia from Room11 gave me a band aid so I felt better. Unfortunately Sunnybrae lost all their games. Even though we lost all our games we all had a fun time.

Chess competition Recount

Chess Competition.

“Oh no is this guy good?” On Wednesday morning the A team and the B team from chess went to Wairau Intermediate for a chess competition. We went there at 8:25. Caleb, Alan, Rodney and Bill were in A team. The A team went in Caleb’s Mums car. Me, Ryan, Mark and Chris were in the B team. We had to ride Mrs Thumath’s car. When we went there, we arrived before Caleb’s mum. When Mrs Thumath was telling us the rules Ryan got in trouble because he was wandering around everywhere.

We went in and the game started. I was nervous. When i looked around there was 3 people I knew.

I lost three times, won two times and drawed once. I lost because I had to VS a higer leveled guy. When I lost two times I got more nervous. So my friend went to the tuck shop and brought me sweets. I said “thank you.”

When all the games were finished we played ‘only two times walk on floor tag.‘ At last the score came out, I was scared. I pushed people to look at the score but ... our team came 24th and the other team came 9th. We came 24th but it was still FUN !!!

Sports Poem

Sports are really fun.

you can jog, walk or run.

There are different types of sports Tennis, Golf and Soccer.

In Rugby you come out of your locker.

You jog out as a team.

Sports are to enjoy, not to be mean.

You could start sport when your a toddler.

When you play a team sport don’t be a hogger.

If you play sports you meet really cool friends.

You can play till your old sports never end.

Some sports are physical but they still keep you fit.

But remember when you play physical sports bring a first aid kit.

Senior Production

The Blue Crystal.

It was good last night My best scene is the first Battle.

The Zarcon Leader hit Co Dot the Robot and he went out of control. Then Aravis got taken by the Zarcon Warriors suddenly the clones shot out their smoke, fire, fury! the rest of the Zarcon Warriors ran away.

The aliens showed Tor where the Zarcon Camp is. Tor was talking to the aliens.

Thea and Zed saw Tor and Tor said “Stop please don’t hurt Thea I know why you stole the crystal it was to save your planet because your suns power is fading”

“1...2...3 Aravis!” everyone shouted.

At the end all of the cast bowed

And that is the end of The Blue Crystal.

Senior Performance Blows Away Audience Like a Bomb!

DO YOU KNOW THE BLUE CRYSTAL IS IN THE EARTHS CORE,IT HELPS THE EARTH BUT OTHER PLANETS WANT IT AS WELL.BUT ONE PLANET IS DYING SO THEIR BEST ZARCON WARRIORS WERE SENT TO GET IT FROM EARTH SO THEIR PLANET WOUDN’T DIE AND AS LONG AS THE CRYSTAL IS ON THE ZARCON PLANET THEY WILL LIVE FOREVER! BUT BACK ON EARTH THINGS ARE REALLY REALLY BAD. SOME SCIENTISTS WERE REALLY NERVOUS BUT THAT WASN’T ANY HELP TO THE PEOPLE SO SOME BRAVE PEOPLE SAID LETS “SAVE THE WORLD” & SO THEY GOT CO DOT THE ROBOT TO HELP GUIDE THEM TO THE ZARCON PLANET

The Blue Crystal!

On Tuesday the production will be the first night to perform. The parents can not wait to see it. The Zarcon warriors are fierce. The Clones are like copycats.

The aliens looked like Goopy monsters.

At the end the audience will clap, cheer and whistle. Everyone will like the Production. The production will be preformed again on Wednesday and Thursday. Then there will be a photo on the hall wall and everyone will be able to remember the senior production.

Top Performance Pulls in the Crowds.

The Blue Crystal production is awesomely sick!

Hulk can’t even shout louder than the Zarcon warrior leader. The Clones are four kids who like copying each other just like I would in a math test “na just jokes” I wouldn’t do that. The choir were singing so good even Chris Brown was jealous. The background had more stars than the sky. The Robots were like a family of Iron Men. The Narrator was just like Luke Haythornwaite reading Taniwha for the Talent Quest.

It all started when the fierce Zarcon warrior wanted the Blue Crystal. His little warrior pests were pouncing at the crowd like a Cheetah would do to kill an Antelope. I was starstruck because the crowd had these scared faces like they had just seen a monster. The Clones helped Captain Tor and his crew fight the Zarcon warriors fight the warriors and with some directions from the Aliens with Blue Whale sized eyes they managed to pull it off. I thought the Clones were scared because they had to take the Zarcon warriors and their leader to Planet Ten. They could of been hi-jacked.

But they all lived happily ever after just like in a fairy tale.

SUNNYBRAE RIVALS ADELE!

SUNNYBRAE NORMAL SCHOOL (OFF SUNNYBRAE RD) OUT ON A BROADWAY STANDARD PERFORMANCE AT THEIR YEARLY SENIOR PRODUCTION LAST NIGHT IN THEIR HALL. THE BLUE CRYSTAL, WRITTEN BY JAMES PERRIN, BLEW THE CROWD AWAY FROM THE OPENING SCENE WHEN THE FEARSOME ZARCON WARRIORS MARCHED OUT WITH THEIR GUNS!

EVEN THE CHOIR SHOULD REPLACE THE ONES ON BROADWAY, LED BY DEPUTY HEAD CATHY O’HANLON. THE CHOIR OWNED EACH SONG LIKE THEY HAD WRITTEN THEM THEMSELVES.

THE CHOIR WAS HITTING SUCH HIGH NOTES THAT EVEN ADELE WOULD BE JEALOUS! THE MAIN CHARACTERS WERE CAPTAIN TOR (ALAN CHEN), ARAVIS (ROSA KIM), ZED (SAM PARKER), & THEA (ISOBEL ADAMSON) THE INSTRUMENTALISTS WERE PLAYING SO WELL THAT THEY COULD BE THE OPENING ACT FOR THE FOO FIGHTERS, LED BY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL JENNIE STEWART THE INSTRUMENTALISTS WERE ROCKIN’ IT ON THEIR, UMM...XYLOPHONES? REALLY XYLOPHONES?! WELL I DON’T KNOW MUCH... BUT YOU SHOULD GO TO THIS SHOW!
